Last night, I attended the CIFWK Trailblazer Awards Gala as a Finalist for Excellence in Literature, and while it was a beautiful evening, what stayed with me most was the theme that ran through everything—creativity.
Not just in writing, but in art, fashion, and expression.

As I stood there, surrounded by designers, models, and creatives, I was reminded that creativity shows up in so many different forms. For me, it’s through storytelling. For others, it’s through fabric, design, and movement.
And interestingly, my dress became part of that conversation.
At one point during the evening, someone asked me if my dress was one of Ms. Norma’s designs. It wasn’t—but I appreciated the question. It was a reminder of the level of artistry present in the room, and how fashion itself is a form of creative expression.
Later on, my colleagues pointed out something I hadn’t even noticed—I was blending into the floral backdrop.

Completely unplanned.
But somehow, it felt fitting.
Because in that moment, I wasn’t just attending an event—I was part of the creative atmosphere itself.
That’s what stood out to me most about the evening. The connection between different forms of creativity. Writing. Fashion. Art. Expression. All existing in the same space, each telling its own story.
As a writer, I often express creativity through words—through imagination, through storytelling, through creating worlds on a page.
But last night was a reminder that creativity isn’t limited to one form.

It’s in what we wear.
It’s in what we create.
It’s in how we express who we are.
And while I was there as a Finalist in Literature, I left feeling inspired by the broader creative energy that surrounded me.
